SiC ceramic, or Silicon Carbide, is the second best material on the FUJI quality scale for the construction of the ring's ceramic ring.

It is second only to Torzite ceramic in terms of thermal conductivity, sensitivity, glide and abrasion resistance. However, the Slim SiC version is a good compromise because it is thinner than a standard SiC and offers 20% more passage surface in the ring while being more robust than an extremely thin Torzite ceramic.
